French oak tables with parquet tops, shaped aprons and gently curved legs, stripped back to reveal the natural pale oak and finished with clear wax. Available individually or as a matching pair, their proportions make them particularly useful – use one as a small coffee or side table beside a sofa, or take both as a pair of generous bedside tables. The parquet tops bring plenty of detail to an otherwise simple design, while the softly shaped edges, scalloped aprons and little carved feet give them a distinctly French look. A really useful size for rooms where a full coffee table or larger bedside cabinet would simply take up too much space.

More About This Piece

These are particularly good because they don't have to be used as a pair. Individually they make excellent small coffee tables, lamp tables or occasional tables; together, their matching size and design make them a great alternative to conventional bedside tables.

The previous finish has been stripped away to expose the natural oak, including the different tones and grain within the parquet top. We've kept the finish simple with clear wax rather than adding colour back into the timber.

The tops have a parquet pattern framed by a softly moulded edge, sitting above shaped aprons and slender curved legs. Small carved details at the feet finish them off without making them overly ornate.

Two matching tables are available. Choose a single table or buy the pair.

Condition

Good solid used condition with marks, knocks, small imperfections and variations associated with previous use. Both tables have been stripped back to their natural pale oak and finished with clear wax. As older pieces, there will be slight differences between the two.

Why We Love It

Mostly because they can go almost anywhere. They're big enough to work as small coffee tables but compact enough for beside a bed or sofa. And if you need a matching pair of bedside tables, finding two old French ones that actually match is always a bonus.
