A set of three French biscuit tins featuring colourful reproductions of early French bicycle advertising. Each cylindrical tin has a different design, including Clément & Cie, Cyclone Cycle and Howe Bicycles, with wonderfully detailed riders, early bicycles and original-style French typography. The tins have plenty of surface wear, marks and rusting which works brilliantly with the period advertising. Sold together as a set of three, they're great simply lined up on a shelf or used as plant pots, desk storage or containers for brushes, tools and other non-food items.

More About This Piece

Each tin features a different piece of early cycling advertising, giving the set a particularly good graphic look when displayed together. The illustrations include penny-farthing and early safety bicycle designs alongside French advertising lettering and Paris addresses. Although originally produced as biscuit tins, we'd now use them purely for decorative or non-food storage.

Condition

Used condition with plenty of surface wear, scratches, marks, discolouration and areas of rust, particularly to the lids, bases and edges. The printed designs remain bright and clearly visible. Due to their age and condition, these are sold for decorative use or non-food storage only.

Why We Love It

It's the graphics that make these. Each one is different but they work brilliantly as a group, and the cycling illustrations and typography give you loads to look at. We'd have them lined up on an open kitchen shelf or use them for three small plants.
