An original reclaimed ship’s anchor sourced from the Royal Navy docks, complete with its original stock. A brilliant piece of British maritime salvage, these old anchors make striking pieces of garden reclamation and look particularly good propped against a stone wall, beside a doorway or worked into a coastal garden.

More about this piece

These are genuine reclaimed anchors rather than modern decorative reproductions and were sourced from the Royal Navy docks. Their years of working life have left the metal with the naturally weathered, aged surface you would expect from old maritime equipment.

The original stock remains in place, which not only gives the anchor its recognisable traditional form but also makes it particularly easy to display.

Although an obvious choice for a coastal home, we think these work just as well as a piece of sculptural garden salvage — amongst reclaimed planters, against old stone or brickwork, or simply leaning beside an entrance.

Condition

Reclaimed condition with surface wear, weathering and oxidation from age and previous use. These are genuine working pieces of maritime salvage, so variations and signs of their former life should be expected.

Why we love it

We love finding pieces that weren't originally made as decoration but become brilliant decorative objects in their own right. The shape, weight and weathered metal make these particularly good amongst old pots and reclaimed garden pieces.
