More About This Piece

We bought this one for its colour and wonderfully simple subject.

Three blue fish fill a pale plate at the centre of the painting, picked out with dark outlines and little red eyes against a layered blue background. The loose handling of the paint gives it an almost folk-art feel, while the natural wooden frame adds a nice contrast to all that blue.

It's an easy size to place and doesn't need to be treated too seriously – hang it amongst other original paintings, add it to a kitchen wall or simply prop it on a shelf.

Why We Love It

The three slightly wonky fish sold it to us. The strong blues, red eyes and simple plate composition make it fun without feeling overly seasidey. We think it would look particularly good in a kitchen.
