Moroccan Tamegroute Glazed Plates

Tamegroute pottery comes from southern Morocco and is known for its distinctive glazed surfaces and natural variation. These small plates show exactly what we like about it – uneven edges, ripples from forming, areas where the glaze has pooled and shifts in colour across each surface. No two are quite the same, whether you choose the deep ochre or green glaze.

Good condition with variations in shape, glaze, colour and surface texture. Small firing marks, pits and irregularities are inherent to this type of pottery rather than faults. Each plate will differ slightly from the photographs.

It's all about the glaze. The ochre ranges from honey to deep brown while the green has darker mottled areas running through it. We like them individually beneath a candle, but a mixture of both colours grouped together looks even better.
