Designed and handmade in our South Devon workshop, this Fishmonger sign has been made by Shaun using reclaimed timber and set within an old reclaimed wooden frame. Inspired by traditional British shop signage, the design combines bold black lettering, maritime motifs and a distressed off-white background for the look of a sign that has been hanging above a fishmonger's for years.

More About This Piece

Each sign begins with carefully selected reclaimed timber before being hand prepared, painted and finished in our workshop. Small knots, splits, nail holes and variations in the timber are all part of the finished piece and celebrate the history of the wood.

Shaun is always experimenting with new designs, so our collection is constantly changing. Keep checking back to see what he's making next.

Handmade using reclaimed timber, so every sign will display natural variations including knots, splits, grain patterns and surface imperfections. These are an intentional part of the finished design and mean no two signs are ever identical.

Why We Love It

There's something satisfying about making a sign from old timber that already has a story to tell. We love that each one develops its own personality depending on the wood it's made from, and we can picture this hanging in everything from a country kitchen to a beach hut or restaurant as a fun addition
