Grey Stoneware Mustard Pots

Stoneware pots like these were widely used in France for mustard and other prepared foods before disposable packaging became the norm. Their thick walls and straightforward shape made them useful containers, and many were subsequently kept and reused around the kitchen. These examples have a pale grey glaze and slightly different proportions and surface markings, so each one is individual.

Good used condition with marks, glaze variations, small firing irregularities and signs of previous use. Some pots have impressed markings near the base. Each varies slightly, so please select your preferred pot from the numbered options.

These are exactly the sort of simple French kitchen pots we always pick up. Nothing fussy, just a really good shape and soft grey glaze. They also happen to be incredibly useful – ours would be full of pencils, wooden spoons or a few stems from the garden.
