French Mustard Pots with Cork Lids

Traditional French mustard has long been sold in reusable ceramic and stoneware jars, particularly larger mustards intended for the kitchen rather than the table. These two examples retain their cork closures and wonderfully graphic paper labels, making them as interesting for display as they are useful for storage. The white pot is labelled Moutarde de Meaux Pommery, while the brown pot is labelled Moutarde à l’Ancienne Bernard Bizoüard.

Good used condition with wear consistent with their previous use. The pots show minor marks and surface wear, while the original paper labels and cork lids have ageing, staining, fading and losses as shown. Please refer to the individual photographs when choosing your pot.

We'd keep these exactly as they are. The old French typography, paper labels and cork lids do most of the work, and they're particularly good mixed amongst old pottery and everyday pieces on open kitchen shelving.
