Turkish wood fired cooking pots

These cooking vessels were used across the eastern Mediterranean and favoured for there heat retaining properties. They are soft fired using clay with a high mica content, years of use over open fires give them the most beautiful black finish. The flames together with the mica give a gold luster with a wonderful iridescence. Use them to display houseplants, or as a fruit bowl.
