Vintage Quimper Deep Plate

A vintage French deep dished plate featuring a hand-painted bird motif to the centre, framed by a traditional blue foliate border. Produced in Brittany, France, Quimper pottery is known for its distinctive decoration. The soft white glazed ground provides a backdrop for the simple bird design, while the hand-painted brushwork gives each piece its own character. This plate sits somewhere between a shallow bowl and a deep plate, making it equally suitable for display on a dresser or used as a side dish.  A decorative piece of French faience with a well-loved, collected feel.
