These intricately carved wooden Burmese puppet head sculptures are thought to originate from the late 1800s and were commonly featured in traditional puppet shows and theatrical performances. Hand carved from one piece of wood and some still feature the original worn paint in places. Some will stand freely as others may need propping up.
